Jesus says: "Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life... You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me... Do not labour for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life... I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst... the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out." John 4:14; 5:39; 6:27, 35, 37

Deep down in the heart of every soul God has implanted a longing for Himself. Originally we were created in the image of God but sin has well nigh erased this image in mankind. Many have turned their backs to the Creator, and sought satisfaction in the "broken cisterns" of the world (Jer 2:13). They live a restless race continually seeking to obtain the so-called goods of life: Entertainment, vain laughter, music and drugs, or career, status and riches. But it remains the "broken cisterns" of the world that "can hold no water" - they are not able to give lasting satisfaction, peace and true joy. Jesus offers the "Living Water" - and this water springs up to everlasting life. It fills us with lasting, deeper values. Through a study of Gods Word we can obtain the Living Water. Nothing has the ability to quench the longing of the soul, to give meaning to life, and develop the intellect, as a study of Gods Word.
